Policy
The Programme has conceived a few international and national activities, to address the climate change issue in the global arena and corresponding activities nationally. The Policy and Advocacy arm of the programme will look towards supporting the global efforts for reducing net greenhouse gas emissions while ensuring sustainable development opportunities for all affected countries.
Over the next five years the efforts of the Programme will be to influence the International processes under the United Nations’ umbrella towards a comprehensive and equitable agreement Post 2012 between all parties for taking concentrated action on Climate. This is critical for achieving the overall goal of managing and limiting the impacts of global warming in a most effective and rational way.
Further WWF-India will focus on building capacity amongst Stakeholders ranging from the Private Sector to Scientific Institutions to Grassroots organizations to be able to engage in the national dialogue on Climate Change. This is essential for creating an informed and participatory dialogue for facilitating an effective intervention into the National Planning process.
