Diploma in Environmental Law : 2008 Batch
The principle feature of Centre for Environmental Law’s educational activities is the Diploma Programme in Environmental Law. Introduced in 1993, the Diploma is the first such comprehensive programme for enviro-legal education catering to India and International students and professionals. Special emphasis is on conservation and environmental issues which lie at the core of all environmental law, the study of which enables participants to determine the effectiveness or ineffectiveness of the respective law.
The Diploma in Environmental Law Programme has been running for fourteen successful years. Over the years changes have been made, syllabi have been reviewed and updated keeping the evolving issues of Environmental Law in mind. The programmes have adapted well, people have graduated and hundreds of participants have benefited from the diploma.
Owing to the requests coming from students/professionals from different fields, WWF-India decided to make the programme available through distance mode along with the regular programme. So, this year would provide a unique opportunity to us at WWF-India to learn through this new teaching methodology, along with contributing to the learning experience of participants of the Diploma programme, we have selected twenty eight participants from diverse background for the 2008 batch.
The uniqueness of the programme can be heard from CEL alumnae who are working in different organizations with environment mandate, practicing lawyers, environmental engineers, environmental scientists and those serving public and private sector companies.
