Note

In Delhi/NCR region the registration is open till 15 April, 2008

You can register a nature club with as few as ten members. You may enrol more members later (even mid-year) by sending us a list of their names and ages, together with their annual subscription. The nature club can be formed in a school/college or other educational institutions.

Youth groups in communities are also encouraged to form nature clubs. Nature clubs can be formed in communities, between people who share common ideology, occupation or concern. In case of Nature Clubs premised in formal institutions, it must be ensured that you have approval and support of the head of your institution for forming your nature club.

Nature club activities need not hinder your studies or work. As a matter of fact, several nature club programmes fall into the scheme of schools and college studies. The newsletters and other mailings will provide you information and guidance for Nature Club activities.

Membership Fees and Fundraising
WWF-India is also a membership-based organisation. Within conservation action, there are varied perspectives that we wish to represent and urge all our nature club members to become part of the WWF family. By paying a nominal fee you become contributors to the conservation corpus that goes on to not only financing part of WWF-India's Nature Club servicing but also a host of other important interventions.

Registration Fee:
@ Rs.1000 per club (payable only once, at the time of registration) and annual subscription for all members is payable @ Rs.50 per person per year.

However, depending on the nature of a club's situation, members can pay an annual subscription at a concessional rate, at the discretion of WWF-India, if such a request accompanies the application form for registration.

All payments with the prescribed application forms should be sent to the nearest WWF-India office in your state/region. All remittances should be made through Bank Draft/Money Order/ Postal Order payable to "World Wide Fund For Nature-India".

If paid in cash, subscription should be handed over only to WWF-India staff. An acknowledgement receipt is issued immediately. Please do not send cash by post. WWF-India will not be responsible for any loss in transit.

Additionally, WWF-India also has subscription schemes for individual members not necessarily part of any Nature Club and we would like our Nature Club members to help us in enlisting more such members into the WWF - Conservation family.

Role of the Club Advisor
A member of the teaching staff of the institution may serve as a Nature Club Advisor. The role of a Nature Club Advisor is fundamentally a function of leadership. The advisor is the person who must lead the nature club in the right direction.

She/he must be aware of local environmental concerns and be able to organise club activities towards the definite goal of conservation awareness and action. In case of Nature Clubs in Communities, the post of a Nature Club Advisor is not required to be filled, and they can follow their own functioning structure.
