Centre for Environmental Law (CEL), at WWF – India, was established in 1993. Since then, CEL has undergone changes in its strategy and vision to keep itself relevant within the changing conservation landscape in India.
CEL’s underlying objective is to contribute effectively to conservation outcomes – amongst other ways, by facilitating dialogue through its legal brief series. These briefs provide an overview, and non – partisan legal analysis, of relevant, contemporary issues in Indian environmental law and policy.
CEL also publishes research papers in various peer reviewed journals and books, through which CEL aims to facilitate and further technical legal discourse, particularly on issues which directly impact/overlap with WWF’s conservation work.
